Show Notes

Welcome to the MarriedPeople podcast! MarriedPeople started to help churches help marriages by giving couples less content, more often.  We’re now taking that method directly to couples on this podcast by giving them one practical thing to do with each episode.

After all, if your marriage isn’t working, nothing’s working. But when marriage is better, everything is better!

Today, get to know our hosts – Ted Lowe, Afton Phillips and CJ Palmer:

Ted Lowe:Ted has been married to Nancy for 22 years and has 3 teenagers. Ted was the director of Married Life at North Point Church in Alpharetta, GA and now works at Orange with MarriedPeople. Ted is also the author of Your Best Us: Marriage is Easier Than You Think.

Afton Phillips: Afton’s desk is 10 feet from Ted’s desk, but that’s not the only reason we asked her to join this podcast! She’s also a great friend and has a heart for marriage. Afton is married to Hudson, who has a 13-year-old son – so Afton went from a single woman with an always-clean apartment, to living with 2 guys overnight!

CJ Palmer: CJ is the “guy with the beard from the outdoor world”. He and his wife Teri have been married for almost 5 years. CJ spent years working outdoors, rigging up fly fishing rods, before he realized his love for working with students and joined Orange 18 months ago.

Stayed tuned and you might even hear about how marriage is like fly-fishing. Or maybe we’ll just start with “Why are some marriages good and others bad?” in Episode One. We hope you’ll join us!
